In our first session I take time to ensure we feel comfortable with each other to enable a therapeutic relationship of trust to develop. I will support you to go beyond talking about your issue to developing a more refined, deeper inner awareness. In this process you may discover hidden and precious aspects of yourself that have been ignored or devalued. Too often this deeper aspect of yourself can easily go unnoticed if you are engaged solely on the level of discussion and thoughts. Often a sense of wellbeing, release and empowerment is experienced as you sense who you truly are.

Throughout the process your understanding of your inner beliefs, emotions, physical sensations, thoughts and behaviour patterns that have impacted your relationships and life choices is unfolded and revealed. Your experiences are witnessed and valued without judgment. Curiosity and respect are an essential part of the process.

What is the difference between counselling and psychotherapy?

When you are dealing with a specific problem or short term situation, then a few counselling sessions may be all you need. If you feel the current situation is part of a deeper, long standing issue, you may want to work more consistently in psychotherapy sessions over a longer period of time to reach the source of your concern, to ensure you achieve clarity and a long term resolution.

Within a therapy session I use a variety of techniques depending on the needs of each client.
 Therapeutic techniques include:
